PDF Searching with Adobe Reader 7.0

When a user runs a search term through either the quick search or the advanced search, any PDF file that is opened will automatically display the matching entries. However, users can also search for new terms within an opened PDF.

Once the PDF has loaded, the term that the user is searching for will be highlighted, allowing for easy identification of its location. If you would like to search the displayed PDF for other terms, simply click the "new search" button in the search box on the right side of the PDF as pictured below:

When you click the "new search" button, you will be provided with several options for searching within the PDF. To run a new search, just enter the word or words you are looking for in the new search box and click on the search button:

The PDF browser will search the document for the new term and display results in the field to the right, it will also highlight the first appearance of the term in the document:

In the event that the search box is closed, you can reopen the search tool by clicking on the binoculars located within the toolbar.
